Razor Electric Go Karts Lead the Way
The truth is that there isn’t a huge amount of choice when it comes to finding an electric Go Kart for your child. In some ways, this lack of competition is disappointing, but on the other hand it does make your purchasing decision much easier than if you had to compare lots of different options from many different manufacturers.
Fortunately, the fact that there aren’t many Go Karts to choose from doesn’t mean you have to settle for a sub-standard product.
My short list of the best electric Go Karts for kids contains 2 great products for you to choose from and deciding between these options will largely depend upon what you want your child to be able to do with their go kart and how much money you are prepared to spend maintaining it.
The Razor company has dominated the electric ride-on market for a number of years now and, when it comes to electric go karts, they lead the way. In fact, I would go so far as to say that they don’t even have any serious competition in this market.
Although all of the go karts mentioned in this article are well-built and should provide years of entertainment, at least one of them will need replacement tires every so often because of the way that it is designed to operate. This is an important matter to factor into your purchasing decision because there is little point in buying a kart that you are financially unable to maintain.
The 2 Best Electric Go Karts for Kids
I have researched this market thoroughly and, in my opinion, the 2 best electric go karts for kids are:
#1 Razor Ground Force Electric Go Kart
The Razor Ground Force Electric Go Kart is designed for kids aged 8 years+ and has a top speed of 12 mph.
It has a pretty good runtime of 45 minutes before the batteries run down and it only takes 4-6 hours to recharge them.
The durability of this Go Kart is greatly assisted by the steel frame that it is built around and it should last for a number of years with normal usage.
Unlike some other electric ride toys, it comes with a variable speed throttle.
The throttle and brakes are both operated from the steering wheel and are very easy to use.

You can buy the Ground Force Go Kart at Amazon for about $249.99 (with Free Shipping).
But, the cheapest price that I found today was $229.99 at this store (with Fast Free Shipping).

#2 Razor Ground Force Electric Drifter Kart
The Razor Ground Force Electric Drifter Kart is designed for kids aged 8 years+ and has a top speed of 12 mph.
It has a pretty good runtime of 45 minutes before the batteries run down and it only takes 4-6 hours to recharge them.
Again, the steel frame makes this a very sturdy toy that should last a decent length of time,
It is also fitted with a variable speed throttle.
Just like the standard Razor Go Kart, the throttle and brakes are both operated from the steering wheel.
The big difference between the Drifter Kart and standard Go Kart is obviously the “drifting” feature that you can see demonstrated on the videos below. Whilst this is great fun, one consequence of the rear wheels skidding around corners is that the tires tend to wear down much more frequently than those on the standard Go Kart.
So, if you are going to choose the Drifter Kart, you need to budget for a new set of tires every 3 months or so. They cost about $30 for a set of 2 new rear tires.

My Final Word
These are both great Electric Go Karts for kids and you just need to decide whether or not to go for the Drifter option (with the need to replace the rear tires every now and again) or the standard Go Kart instead.
