The E100 Series – Are there Any Differences?
Many people get confused by the fact that there appear to be 4 different versions of the Razor E100 series of electric scooters to choose from: the E100, E125, E150, and E175.
If you search online you will find people claiming that there are some small differences between these different model numbers. These claims range from suggestions that they have slightly different motor systems, different tyres, and even different top speeds.
But, what is the truth? Are there actually any differences?
The truth is that there are absolutely no differences between these scooters in terms of their features.
You don’t have to just take my word for it. If you ask the Razor company themselves, they will confirm this fact. So, don’t waste your time trying to find differences between these scooters when the company that actually builds them says quite clearly that there are none.
The Razor E100, E125 E150, and E175 scooters all have exactly the same specifications.
Why are there 4 model numbers for the same scooter?
The simple answer is that the model number varies according to 2 things:
- which retailer is selling the scooter
- the color of the scooter
Apparently Razor has agreements with different retailers to sell slightly different colored scooters and, as a result, they are given slightly different model numbers.
It’s as simple and straightforward as that … mystery solved!
The New Razor Power Core E100 Scooter
The original E100 series of electric scooters has been on the market for a number of years now and so it’s only natural that they have become a bit outdated and that technology has moved on. One of the biggest problems with E100 is it’s short battery run time between charges – just 40 minutes.
The good news, however, is that Razor have recently introduced the new Razor Power Core series of scooters onto the market. They have a massively increased battery run time, a slightly increased top speed, and a new hub motor that has no chain to worry about in terms of tensioning and alignment. The equally good news is that they sell for about the same price as the old E100 scooters.
I have reviewed the Power Core E90 and Power Core E100 scooters, both individually and side-by-side.
